Description - Material - Aesthetic Criteria

Το θερμαντικό σώμα έχει διαστάσεις 1,20 εκ. x 0,60 εκ. , επιφάνεια 0,72 τετραγωνικά μέτρα και πάχος 4εκ. ενώ η κατανομή επιφανειών έχει ως εξής

  • επιφάνεια μαρμάρου = 0,72 τετραγωνικά μέτρα
  • επιφάνεια επένδυσης μετάλλου = 0,3135 τετραγωνικά μέτρα
  • οπή = 0,0110 τετραγωνικά μέτρα

Objectives - Options

The proposal aims to create the best possible connection between the aesthetic and functional status of the heating object. It is a product that introduces new ways of appearance that radiators can have in modern times.

As known, the use of infrared heating ensures lower energy consumption costs by all conventional means of heating such as air conditioners, heaters, heating oil, gas or electricity and with zero maintenance costs.
After a first valuation of manufacturing capacities, of the high thermal conductivity of marble and metals, we chose the combinatorial use of marble and oxidized steel for the creation of our proposal. These are materials with increased both the rate of λ (Thermal conductivity) and factor U.

By using these different materials we ensure maximum performance and parallel importation of new groups in forming materials for the radiators. Furthermore, the aesthetic result is not degraded but highlighted with subtle and clean design lines and the waters of the natural formations of materials.

[1] Ο συντελεστής θερμικής αγωγιμότητας λ δίνει την ποσότητα της θερμότητας σε βατώρες, η οποία ρέει σε 1 ώρα μέσα από στρώμα υλικού που έχει επιφάνεια 1m2 και πάχος 1m, όταν η πτώση της θερμοκρασίας προς την κατεύθυνση της ροής της θερμότητας (διαφορά θερμοκρασίας των δύο επιφανειών) είναι ένας βαθμός Κέλβιν και το σύστημα βρίσκεται σε μόνιμη κατάσταση, δηλαδή η θερμοκρασία τοπικά παραμένει σταθερή με το χρόνο. Ο συντελεστής θερμικής αγωγιμότητας μετράται σε βατ ανά μέτρο και βαθμό Κέλβιν ( W / m*Κ ).

[2] Ο όρος θερμοπερατότητα U προσδιορίζει πόσο εύκολα διαπερνά η θερμότητα (μετρούμενη σε Watt), μέσα σε μία ώρα, ένα υλικό είτε στρώσεις ίδιων ή διαφορετικών υλικών ορισμένου πάχους d και εμβαδού ενός τετραγωνικού μέτρου.

The radiator has total dimensions of 1.20 cm x 0, 65 cm and area 0.72 square meters and a thickness of 4cm.Below are named some of the marbles that could satisfy the aesthetic result of the proposal and Pietra Gray, Aliveri marble, Gricio fior di bosco and Bardiglio.The options above are indicative of the range of diverse options that can produce motion by focusing on the marble pietra grey combined with leafed titanium. Some of the selected marbles for earthy version are golden brown , brown marble of chios island in combination with leafed oxidized metal.

It is necessary to be noted that the overall width of the object surface is of marble , which is carved by etching and cutting systems so as to achieve different levels of surface thickness 2.5 ~ 4cm.

Marble surface is layed out- at some surfaces indicated in design – with titanium sheet or alternatively oxidized metal sheet and welding is resulted with special 2-component epoxy adhesive high temperature resistance glue. Holes at specific points at the back of the body allow the penetration of infrared radiation into the material and there is consideration of 2 ways of placement of the heating body both horizontal and vertical depending on the location.

During the creation of the proposal, were noted down some key considerations for the functional extensions of the heating body such as the site to be located, for example sitting areas , dining , sleeping or secondary areas such as bathrooms . As a result of these considerations was to create a metal component associated with the selected investment (oxidized metal / titanium) which is placed in the hole that runs through part of somatos the heating body.The elongated metal element with recesses and protrusions with general dimensions contour to meeting needs storage and hanging everyday objects ( clothing , towels ), as shown in Figure 2 in detail. Its dimensions allow ease of use.
The overall design of the proposal was driven aesthetically by visual art schools such as Bauhaus and pop art and artists such as Piet Mondrian, Victor Vasarely, Josef Albers.
